Reality TV show-winning Ben Forster will extend his performance as The Phantom in one of the West End’s longest running shows, The Phantom Of The Opera, until 2 September 2017.
Now in its 31st Year at the West End’s Her Majesty’s Theatre, The Phantom Of The Opera has won over 70 major theatre awards, including 7 Tony Awards and 3 Olivier’s. Forster has played the title role since 1 February 2016, joining the ranks of Ramin Karimloo, John Owen-Jones and role originator, Michael Crawford.
The show itself is Broadway’s longest running in history, celebrating 29 years this January, and is the first to gross over $6 billion worldwide, reached in summer 2016. Revenues make the show more profitable than the world’s highest-grossing film Avatar ($2.8 billion), no surprise as it has been seen by 140 million individuals.
